Lorraine and Barry Egerter

Barry started with computers in 1981 as a programmer. His first company started in 1985 along with his younger brother Chris Egerter. He had many programming and team lead jobs from 1994 until 2023.

Lorrie started a medical position as a respiratory therapist. She then switched to computers after going back to school and getting trained on Microsoft Office. She had many positions since then including Labatt, Bell Canada, Ministry of Transportation for Ontario.

The two met at work in 1999 for a point-of-sale computer company in London Ontario. They got married in 2002 and now have a son and a daughter.

Health Issues

At age 50, Barry had a stroke in June 2023. He lost all speech and was dealing with a heart that was only 15% effective (Ejection Fraction). He is now retired and has recovered most of his speech after 6 months of speech therapy.

Due to his health issues, Barry wanted me to create this blog and let me tell the story about a mobile app that we created 15 years ago.
